Finding My Apartment

The kids and I moved into the apartment we live in now a few short months after my husband left.  I was worried about finding somewhere big enough for the four of us that I could afford.  A friend of mine and I drove around for a couple of days, looking for anything that was for rent.  We just happened to stumble upon these apartments, and I was thrilled when I found out they were income based, so I knew I would be able to afford to live here. We have a three bedroom apartment, and I pay a little over $500 every month in rent.

I was a little concerned at first, because let's face it, low income housing can be, how should I say this, less than desirable. In fact, I remember asking when I was touring the apartments before I moved in if there was a lot of drug activity or fighting that went on.  I was assured that this was a quiet neighborhood, and in the year that we have been here, we have never had a problem.  Well, other than the drama that comes with little girls and best friends and who likes who better and oh my goodness, I never had this much trouble when Kasi ten years old!
