It's going to happen to all of us. Hopefully, by the time I get older, my kids will be responsible adults living happy fulfilling lives. I want to be sure that when the time comes, one of them will take care of me and not leave me lying in a nursing home somewhere. I know there are very good nursing homes out there, but I would rather be with people who love me and not strangers who are being paid to take care of me.
I am sure that if I get to the point where I need some type of daily care, my kids can find a service like NJ senior care. When I think about home health care, the television show Frasier always comes to mind. I love that show! I wish they would put it on Netfix. I love Niles. He seriously makes the show funny. There was one episode where he is ironing his pants and he cuts his finger with a pair of scissors. Every time he would see the blood he would faint. It's hysterical.
Anyway, having the option of having a nurse come into the home can make taking care of on older relative easier. New Jersey elder care can provide part time, full time, and even live in care. To me, this sounds like a better option than a nursing home.

How Old Are You?
There is this website, RealAge.com, where you can go take the RealAge Test, and they will calculate how old you are. Not your actual age, but how old your body is. Depending on how you treat yourself, you could score older or younger. I was SHOCKED when my results came back, and said I was 46.3! I'm only 36, and they have me pushing 50! I knew, though, as I was answering some of the questions that I was in trouble. They ask you the expected things, like height, weight, smoking habits, and health issues. Then they asked about family history. I found it amusing that they also asked about your driving habits. I guess if you admitted to being a speed demon that would affect your results. When they email your results, you are directed to a page where they list the reason's for your score. Mine said, basically, that I need to lose weight and exercise. I didn't see that coming! I had my cholesterol checked last year, and it was normal, and my blood pressure is usually normal, but because I didn't know the specific numbers, that went against me too. My family history of breast cancer didn't help either. I guess I need to make some changes in my lifetyle so that when I am 46 is 10 years, I can score a 36 on this test. You should go see how you rate. Take the RealAge Test! It's free!
