my stove is not cracked...it's the handles reflection
Pretty cool, right? I know, I know. I totally caved and bought something for the house instead of a purse. I just could not pass up this Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 10" and 12" Omelet Combo Set. The set cost $49.95, with free shipping. I have been needing a new nonstick pan for a while. I have a really nice skillet that I love, but it's not nonstick. The only nonstick I have is one I have had for about 6 years, and the coating is peeling off. So when I saw these pans, I knew I had to have them. The first thing I made was grilled cheese for me and Brandi.
These pans have a ton of features:
- Nonstick surface makes cleanup easy and promotes low-fat and non-fat cooking
- Versatile vessel shape that accommodates several different cooking techniques
- Thick, wide bottom for quick, even heating with little or no oils
- Sloping sides allow food to glide freely from the pan to your plate
- Long handle stays cool on the stove top for hours of comfortable cooking
- Oven safe up to 450 degrees
These pans are super easy to clean, too. I have used them several times already, and being the great housekeeper that I am, I left the big one sitting overnight after I cooked BBQ sausage in it. I was anticipating having to scrub it clean, but that was not the case.
I am really happy with my decision to get these pans. Maybe next time I will get something for myself.
But probably not.

Absolutely LOVE mine tooo.. lol.. we got the set of frying pans two Christmases ago, and finally bit the bullet last Christmas and replaced ALL our pots and pans.. hahaha mind ya the replaced pots and pans were at LEAST 15 yrs old.. lol..
Calphalon stuff is really good. We have 1 frying pan. We have a gas stove and like to use cast iron off and on. Sometimes I think cast iron is better than these modern coated pans. We still use a roaster that was my Mother's that has to be at least 50 years old.
Mommying On The Fly ~ I still have the pots my mom bought me when I got married in 1995! lol! It's nice to get new stuff, and these pans are awesome!
Da Dude ~ that is pretty cool...and the sign of a good piece of cookware if it lasts 50 years.
I do the same thing. I love kitchen stuff.
I have these pans as well and while I do love their size and the fact that they can go straight from stove to oven, I hate that they still don't last as long as stainless or other regular pans do.
I am almost to the point of needing to replace them. Mine are about 4 years old and even though I'm careful about what sorts of utensils I use and how I wash them, the nonstick surface is starting to show it's age.
That being said, they ARE the best nonsticks I've ever owned. I'm going to buy another set when I toss these!
Tammy ~ I love kitchen stuff, too. I just wish I was a better cook!
Tara Beaulieu ~ I am really loving them, too. I think four years is a pretty good life for a non-stick. Is there an average for a pan like that? I might have to do a little research...
