A Book Blog?

We are already two weeks into the new year, and I feel like it's still 2010.  The kids have been home way too many days.  Bob has been home, too, which has thrown my schedule all out of whack.  School is canceled again tomorrow, which means the kids will be home until Tuesday.  That's right, Tuesday.  I am not happy about this.  At all.

I am having a hard time getting my work done with everyone home.  I had wanted to start a new blog at the first of the year, but that hasn't happened yet.  I already have the food one, the craft one, my personal one, and this one.  Oh, and a picture one.  I haven't touched that one in months, though.  Maybe once I get my new camera I will get back into the habit of posting a new picture every day.

My new blog will be something different.  I'm thinking about starting one where I review and keep track of all the books I read.  I see a lot of those types of blogs when I drop ecards.  I can't decide if I want to start it on blogger or buy a domain.  I read a hostgator review and according to it's users, it's a great site to use. I have never used them myself, so I would appreciate input from any of you that have.

Hopefully once the kids are back in school I will find the time to actually get the new blog up and running.  That's assuming the kids will, eventually, one day, finally go back to school.

I used to have a book blog, too! I haven't done anything with it in over a year and a half.

Oh, the possibilities...

I don't know how you do so many blogs. I have one and can't seem to keep up. I have a shelf thing on my blog with me books. It works for me. My hubby keeps thinking about doing a blog. He has been thinking of a name for a year now.

I read, and nowadays I even keep track of the books I'm reading - but usually I don't have time to review them, unless I got it free because I'm supposed to review it. I'm always at a loss what to say. I liked it. I didn't like it. After that, what?

Stacey ~ I am always reading something, and though I buy a lot of the books I read so I have a list that way, I still want somewhere to write my thoughts on each book.

Dorothy ~ thanks!

Tammy ~ it's easier when I don't work outside the house, though sometimes this blogging thing can get a bit overwhelming. There are days I want nothing to do with looking at this screen.

Anna ~ I have the same problem sometimes. I have this book I got MONTHS ago that I have to review, but I have no idea what to say about it.

I love hostgator. When you need help, you are able to talk to real people. If you decide to go with them, please, please, use my referral by clicking on their button on my blog.

I had to move all my blogs over to hostgator when Bluehost kept having problems. They did it for me at no cost to me! I really do think they are the best.

Karen ~ if I find the time to do this, I will use your link :)

Are you thinking of using wordpress ?? I am kind of thinking about it, but I don't know if now is the time to have that extra expense.

Dawn ~ wordpress sounds to "techy" for me. I like the simplicity of blogger...if I need something, I just click. I don't want to have to worry about add ons and whatnot.

Why would you need a host then ? I am confused. Blogger is hosted through blogspot.

Dawn ~ wordpress is free if you use their wordpress.com address...if you have your own domain through them, it costs a monthly fee...I think, Who uses them and can help us understand?

I use Goodreads to keep track of what I've read, what I'm reading, and what I want to read. When I finish a book, I can automatically post my review to my blog along with a photo and my rating. It makes posting reviews easy, so you might want to look into that if you start a new book blog. It can also post automatically to twitter. I love goodreads!

This goodreads really sounds interesting to me. This post of yours has really had me thinking. I think I might start up a new blog with my hubby. I think it just sounds to hard for him so if I help and he just had to do post I'm sure it would work. Of course I would need your help. You are always so much help.

Diana ~ that sounds interesting...do you use it for books you get to review? I guess it wouldn't matter...I am going to have to check this out.
