Rearranging

This week I am going to be cleaning like a madwoman and rearranging my living room.  Why, you ask?  It's all because of this Bank Of America thing.  You see, my house is tiny, and we have a lot of furniture.  The way my living room is set up, I have my desk facing the room, which means the unfinished side which is supposed to be against the wall is visible to everyone.  Normally, this doesn't bother me, but if they decide to take pictures here at the house, I want the desk turned the way it is supposed to be.


I also want to move the kids computer, and maybe the entertainment center that holds the television.  The problem with this is that there are a bunch of different cords for your television and I have no idea how they are all attached.  I don't know which are the DVI cables and which are the cable wires.  It also has the wii and DVD player connected, and I have no idea how to reattach all that.  I probably couldn't even figure out how to use the DVI to HDMI cable to be able to connect the computer to the television.  

Now that I wrote all this out, it's probably best if I leave the television alone, and just focus on moving my desk back to the way it should be.  Of course, that means I will no longer be able to watch television while I'm online, but that may end up being a good thing as well.  It may force me to actually be productive and get some work done.

By "liking" Charter Moms Facebook page, I will be one of the first to know about new programming and services, along with all the other fans of the page.  I like that I now have a voice, as small as it is.  I like that I can now see what other mom's like about Charter.  It will be interesting to see if there are other mom's who think like me.

I Have The Best Cable Televsion Deal

 I have cable television.  We have tried several times to do the satellite thing, but I always hated how when it got stormy outside, or even just a little rainy, the signal would go out.  I have been with my current cable television provider for several years, and for the most part, I am a very happy, satisfied customer.

I know it can be confusing sometimes to find the best cable deals, so it's nice to have a website that compares Cable TV Deals for you.  Different companies offer different packages and channels.  Heck, even the same company can have a variety of different channel packages.   I subscribe to all the channels, even the movie channels.  We don't go out a lot, so having the ability to watch whatever we want on television is nice. 

I also love my High Speed Internet.  I don't remember exactly how fast it is, but I do know that I have the best speed that my cable company provides. I also have my phone through them, so I only have to pay one bill every month.  Granted, it is a pretty good sized bill, but it is worth the services they provide.  If I were to check out Internet Service Providers, phone companies, and then just have basic cable, I would be paying three bills, and I am pretty sure that added together, it would be more than I am paying now.

Which Is Better?

I moved to South Carolina years ago. I was concerned about continuing my Direct TV in NY down south. Turns out I had nothing to worry about.

I love the variety of channels available with Directtv. They have several different packages available, depending on what channels you want. I used to be a big television watcher, so I subscribed to the package that has all the movie channels. Though I don't watch as much television these days, I still love certain shows, like Dexter and True Blood. There is just something about a good serial killer and a vampire that just speaks to me.

Weird, I know.

I also love movies, especially horror and comedy. I am really happy when I can find a funny horror flick.

We are currently thinking about moving again, and transferring my Direct TV service is one of the only things that I am not worried about. I am worried about finding the perfect place, in our current school district. Brandi has already threatened to beat Junior up if he makes her change schools. Kasi and Ryan are in a high enough grade that we have more options with them, but I really don't want to move Brandi. She is doing so well in school, and I want to keep it that way.

Switching From Cable To Direct TV

For me, the worst part about moving, besides the packing and the actual moving, is having all the utilities switched over. For some reason, I can never work it out so that everything is installed and on before we move into a new place. This means there will be a lapse in my internet access, and that stinks. You all know that I am on here all day long. The only good thing is that I will be able to unpack without the distraction of the internet.

I am also thinking about switching to Direct TV instead of switching over my current cable. Don't get me wrong, I am happy with my service, but I am paying so much each month, and I just wonder if the Direct TV Packages would save me money. Right now with cable, I get all of the premium channels, except STARZ, and combined with my phone and internet, I pay more than $150 a month.

That is a big chunk of change.

I found some Direct TV deals, and I can get over 200 channels for $45 a month, for the first 12 months. That is really good. I think I am paying over $80 just for my cable channels, and I don't think I get over 200. The only thing I didn't like when we had satellite television was how it would go out during storms. I wonder if Direct TV Service is better these days?

I guess there is only one way to find out. Those of you who use Direct TV, tell me the good and the bad, although I am sure it will be all good. I really haven't heard anything bad about them. I want to know about customer service, pricing, everything.
