What would you do if someone called the school for information about your kids? Someone who is not related to you and has no business even being involved with anything to do with your kids schooling?
Me? I called her and blasted her out. I mean, I am their mom. It's my job, not hers, to deal with everything in their lives. It pisses me off to no end that she thinks she has any right, whatsoever, to check up behind me.
I am also pretty pissed that the school even discussed my child with her. They are going to get a phone call from me on Monday as well. I wonder if she pretended to be me to get the information?
I am getting so sick and tired of this person thinking she has any say when it comes to my kids. They are nothing to her. They have a mom. They have a dad. They don't need anyone else.
The thing that kills me is that she seems to think I am the bad person in all of this. I am not the one who did anything wrong. I didn't steal someone's husband. I didn't break apart a family. The only thing I do is make sure my kids are happy and safe.
And that's MY job!

A Little Rant To Start Off The Week
Do you want to know what bugs me? Well, even if you don't, I'm still going to tell you. I absolutely hate it when people take advantage of my husband. I don't want to get into the specifics, but there is a certain friend of our family who only calls Junior when he needs something. Remember when Junior's hand got infected a few weeks ago and he was facing surgery? Before that, this friend was having Junior do a lot of work for him. Since then, this guy hasn't even called to see if Junior's hand has healed. Nothing.
Last night when we got home, there was a message from this guy's wife, wanting Junior to call them. He did, and they didn't even ask how his hand was, they just wanted to know where he got the parts the last time he fixed their car because the check engine light had come on, and they were having the car looked at. Now, Junior has been the only one to work on their cars for years. Now, suddenly, they want to take it to an auto shop? Whatever.
I told Junior not to worry about it, but I know it hurt his feelings. These are people we are fairly close with. I keep reminding him that this is not the first time they have distanced themselves from us, and I know that eventually, they will need him to do something so they will call again.
Last week, on the way to my mom's house, we happened to be driving by their house, and the guy was outside, so we stopped. There was a Ford F-50 in their yard that Junior didn't recognize, and when he asked about it, the guy just blew him off. We didn't think anything about it at the time, but now Junior is thinking that this guy found someone else to do his work for him while Junior's hand was healing, and now he has no need for Junior. The way I see it, I don't care if he takes his cars to a San Diego auto repair shop to have it fixed. He just better not expect Junior to fix it next time. People down South always say that you should never burn your bridges, because you never know when you will need to go back across one. In my opinion, these people have burned their bridge with Junior, and it is going to take a lot of fixing to make things right.

I Need A Moment To Vent
My father-in-law is getting under my skin. I think when he went to school way back when, they offered a class called HOW TO MAKE YOUR CHILD FEEL LIKE CRAP IN UNDER 30 SECONDS. He seems to be the expert, so he must have gotten an A+. For those of you who don't know, my husband has a protruding disk in his lower back. His doctor recomended surgery, but Junior won't do it. I don't blame him, it's risky. Anyway, he is in the process of roofing our house. After all the things he does for other people, he can't find anyone to help him.(but that's another story for another day) Del offered to pay a guy to do it, but Junior doesn't want him to spend that much money. So slowly, he has been doing a little at a time. He also works night shift and does odd jobs so that we can make ends meet. He sleeps less than 5 hours a day during the week, and likes to catch up on the weekends. Can you blame him? So for the past month or so, his dad calls almost EVERY day wanting to know why he isn't working on the roof. If Junior says he's tired or that his back is hurting from being up there the day before, his dad calls him useless. Tells him he'll never get it done. Basically calls him lazy. We had to run and get cat food this morning. We were gone 5 minutes cause we just ran down the road. His dad called while we were gone. Left this message, "hell, the asshole isn't even home". Nice, huh? I am soooo ready to tell him to shut his mouth if he doesn't have anything nice to say. But, I must respect my elders. So I suck it up. Junior doesn't say anything because he doesn't want his dad to have another heart attack. Just because he is in bad health DOES NOT give him the right to be so mean all the time. I wish he would realize how much he is hurting his son. I think Junior would have his own heart attack if his dad ever told him he is proud of him. How hard is that? Junior works REALLY hard to support his family. Growing up, his parents didn't make him do well in school, they never pushed him to go to college. He now regrets not pushing himself. He's 41 years old and living paycheck to paycheck. At least he can see how wrong his parents were in not supporting him, and he can be more loving and supporting to our children. He slips every now and then. But he is willing to admit his mistakes and learn from them. I know his dad is too old for that, but I hope one day before he dies, he is able to tell Junior that he DOES love him and that he IS proud of him.
