My kids go back to school in four days. I am sure I am not the only mom in the world who is doing cartwheels on the inside. This has been a long summer, and I am sure the kids are looking forward to going back to school as I am about them going. I crave the routines that come with going back to school, and I think they do too, though they may not admit it.
Of my three kids, Brandi is the only one who wears eyeglasses. She hasn't really worn them at all this summer, because she only needs them when she reads, and like most kids, I don't think she has cracked open a book in months. I was hoping to get her a new pair before school starts, but that seems impossible since I have less then a week to get them. When I do decide to buy them, I am going to get them from Zenni. My nephew has gotten glasses from them, and they are good quality. The ones he has are camo, and they look so cute on him. Brandi wants a pair with ladybugs on them, but I'm not sure if they carry anything like that.
Maybe I can talk her into a purple pair.

Hearts
Valentine's Day is coming up soon, and for the first time in 16 years, I do not have a Valentine. Well, I kind of do, so maybe it's better for me to say I do not have a husband. This does not stop me from looking forward to this love holiday, because I have my three kids to buy something for. Plus, I am sure they will get me something, too.
I found those glasses up there at Zenni Optical, and I would totally wear them. I love the little blingy heart on the side! For those of you who don't know about Zenni, they are the best place to buy glasses. Those heart glasses are $30, but they have a huge selection of eyeglasses that cost under $10. That's right. I said under $10. For someone like me on a very tight budget, being able to save money on eyeglasses is awesome. I wear glasses, and Ryan needs glasses to see the board at school, and buying glasses for the two of us gets downright expensive. I have yet to order from Zenni, simply because our current pairs are still in good condition. I do have friends and family members who have ordered from them, and they were more than satisfied with their glasses.
The next time you need new glasses, check out Zenni Optical.

I Say Merry Christmas!
I am so tired of people being afraid to say "Merry Christmas". I deal with people all day during my deliveries, and for the past week or so, everyone has been telling me to have a Merry Christmas, just in case they don't see me again before the 25th. But, if I go into a store to shop, I am told to have a Happy Holiday. To me, it's just not the same thing. It's Christmas, people.
I found these glasses on ZenniOptical.com, and for only $12.95 I can wish everyone a Merry Christmas without even opening my mouth! I love it. I know several people who have bought cheap eyeglasses from Zenni and have been more than satisfied. Being so close to Christmas, I have better things to spend my money on than glasses that cost $100. I can get these Christmas glasses for under twenty bucks, and spend the rest of my money on more gifts for my kids. Ryan is a little behind the girls in the gift department, which means I still need to get him a few more things.
You should check out Zenni if you are looking for new glasses. They have several other Christmas themed eyeglasses, and tons of regular glasses too, all at more than reasonable prices. Check them out, then come back here and let me know which ones you would wear to express yourself.

Cheap Eyeglasses
I am all about saving money these days. Christmas is less than two months away, and I just started shopping. And by shopping I mean I have picked up a few stocking stuffers for the girls. I need to find the money to do some real shopping, which means I will be cutting back in other areas, like cigarettes and food, neither of which I really need. Well, maybe I need to eat, but I could really do without the smoking.
If you are looking for ways to save money, too, and need new cheap eyeglasses you should check out zennioptical.com. They have glasses for less than $10, and from what I hear, they are pretty decent. In fact, I have yet to hear of anyone having a bad experience with them. I am interested to know how your experience was if you have ever bought glasses from them. I really want new glasses, but I won't have the money until after Christmas. If I can get a decent pair or two cheap, that would be awesome.
I am also interested in any other tips you guys have for saving money. Leave me comments. I need all the help I can get!

New Glasses?
I'm thinking about getting new glasses. It's been a few years since I've had my eyes checked, and while I think my prescription is fine, I think I might want new frames. I have been doing a lot of changing here recently, so why should I hang on to my old eyeglasses? The other day I noticed that my boss got new glasses, so maybe I was inspired by that? Who knows. All I do know is that I want something new.
Of course, I will have to find affortable eyeglasses because I don't have much "extra" money every month. In fact, I can not tell you how happy I was when I wrote my rent check today, on the first of the month, and I am I don't have to stress about the money being in the bank. It's there. No question.
But let's get back to my new glasses. You all know what I look like, and you know what my glasses look like. How different should I go? I won't go so far as to hunt down purple glasses with elephants on them, but I do want something with a little color, even if that color is black. What do you think?

No More Squinting Because Of The Sun
I love to swim. I really do. Sometimes, I like to just float around in the pool, soaking up the sun, but most of the time, I am in the water with the kids, having fun. Since the beginning of summer, I have been taking my glasses off before getting into the water. It makes it a lot easier to go under the water if I don't have to worry about them. The only problem is that I can not see, and the sun is really, really bright bouncing off the water.
When we were in the pool yesterday, I was getting in and out a lot to check on the steak that was on the grill. I kept having to put my glasses back on, and then take them off, and at one point, I got into the pool with them still on. It was interesting to actually be able to see in the water! Now I think I want to buy a pair of prescription sunglasses to wear in the pool. I found this really cool pair at ZenniOptical. What do you think?
Pretty funky, right? There is no way I would wear them in public, but I would totally wear them in the pool. I mean, they're purple! I also found a bunch of "normal" frames that I would wear in public, and because they are so reasonably priced, I could get more than one pair.
Maybe I'll get these to wear in public:
They are pretty nice, right? I think I could pull these off. They are the same shape as my regular glasses, so I know they'll fit my face. All I know is that it will be nice to be able to see while blocking out the sun.

Broken Glasses
I broke my glasses Easter Sunday. I have no idea how I did it, but we were on the way to my mom's house, and my nose started hurting where my glasses sit, so I took them off. I was shocked when I saw that the little piece that goes on my nose was broken, because it is made of bendable rubber. I mean, how do you break rubber?
The glasses are a few years old, so Junior suggested that instead of having them repaired I just get a new pair. I love those eyeglasses and agreed to get a new pair only if I could find a new pair similar to those at a reasonable price. Well, imagine my surprise when I found the pair pictured below. They are almost the exactly the same!
The best news is that I found this pair at Zenni Optical, in their selection of $8 glasses. I think I paid almost $100 for my broken pair, so spending $8 to replace them is a pretty good deal. And because they look like my old pair, I know how they will look on me. That was always my biggest concern with buying glasses online. They may look good on the page, but there was no guarantee that they would look good on.
If you need new glasses, I would suggest checking out Zenni Optical. I have heard only good things about them, from friends of mine who have actually ordered their products. In fact, one friend was expecting a cheap pair of glasses, and was pleasantly surprised when the pair that arrived was made well. In these tough economic times, we could all use a little help saving money, and being able to get quality glasses at an inexpensive price is sure to help.
I know it will help me.

New Glasses
I remember when I was in school, every year the nurse did seeing and hearing tests on all the kids. The hearing test was easy. You put on these huge headphones, and you would raise your hand on the side you heard the beep. I never worried about that one, because I knew my hearing was fine.
It was the eye test I worried about. Some of the kids would cheat, and memorize the letters on the chart. I was too scared to do that. In elementary school, I always passed. By junior high, I was getting letters sent home saying I needed to see a real eye doctor. At one point, my mom took me to get contacts, but I hated the way they felt in my eyes, so I never wore them. It wasn't until I started college that I finally broke down and got a pair of glasses. They cost close to $200 if I remember correctly. I wore those glasses for 10 years. I wish zennioptical.com had been around back then. I wouldn't have waited ten years to get another pair of glasses.
Luckily, my kids have pretty good eyesight. Ryan is the only one who needs glasses, and he only needs to wear them to see the board at school. This means they spend most of the day in his backpack. As you can imagine, we have gone through several pairs of eyeglasses
for him. Thankfully, he loves this $8 pair from zennioptical.com, so when he breaks or loses his current pair, I can replace them easily.
And we all know how often kids glasses get broken.

Ryan Needs New Glasses
My son, Ryan, wears glasses in school. He only needs them to see the board from the back of the room, so most of the time they are in his book bag. I asked him the other day if I could see them, and I couldn't believe the condition they were in. They were scratched so bad I couldn't stand looking through them. The thought of taking him to get new glasses scares me, because I know how expensive a pair of glasses can be.
Luckily I found Optical4less.com. They offer complete eyeglasses for as little as $15. I couldn't believe the different styles they offer. They have rimless, semi-rimless, hingeless, plastic and even titanium frames. They have tinted, bifocal, and progressive lenses available to go in the frames that you chose. If you decide that you want more than one pair you can even get free shipping. At these prices, you could have a different pair for each day of the week.
Your new glasses come with a bunch of freebies, too. Anti-reflective coating, UV protection coating, anti-scratch hard coating, a cleansing cloth, and a colorful, stylish hard case are all included free of charge. If you want to here from some of there satisfied customers, check out their website. I know that hard case and anti-scratch coating will be perfect for Ryan.
