Recently, Brandi got glasses. She was having a hard time reading books, which is really odd for a child her age. The eye doctor said she is very far sighted, and gave us some exercises to do with her eyes to help her learn to focus on objects close to her face.
Boo looks adorable in her glasses. She is on Medicaid, so the selection of glasses we got to choose from was very limited. She wanted something colorful and funky, but they didn't offer anything like that. I told her we would check out the eyeglasses on zennioptical.com to find her a pair she likes. She had fun looking through all the choices, and finally decided on these:
They are cute, and I think she would look great wearing them. The best thing I like about them is the price. They are only $12.95! At that price, I told her she could pick out two pairs. I also like the idea of having several pair of glasses for her, just in case she loses or breaks one of them. I am not all hesitant about ordering from zenni, because I know several people who have gotten glasses from them, and they all have only good things to say. Plus, the glasses themselves are not cheaply made, which is what I was thinking since they are so reasonably priced.
Have you ordered from zenni? If so, let me know what you think.

Awesome Sale At ZenniOptical
Ryan told me the other day that he wants me to get him new glasses. The pair he has now are several years old, and he has grown quite a bit since we bought them. He says the prescription is still okay, but they just don't fit his face properly anymore. He doesn't need to wear them all the time, only when he needs to see the board at school.
I have been on a mission to find the
cheapest prescription eyeglasses I can for him, and I have heard great things about Zenni Optical. I personally know several people who have ordered from them, and they all have wonderful things to say. My timing couldn't be better either, because right now, they are having a huge sale, where when you buy two pairs of glasses, you can get a third pair (or equal or lesser value) free. And seeing as how some of their glasses cost less than ten dollars each, I can really save some money.
This is a limited time promotion, so don't hesitate to take advantage of this amazing deal. Simply add the eyeglasses you need to your shopping cart, and the least expensive will be automatically deducted. It really can't get any easier.

Hearts
Valentine's Day is coming up soon, and for the first time in 16 years, I do not have a Valentine. Well, I kind of do, so maybe it's better for me to say I do not have a husband. This does not stop me from looking forward to this love holiday, because I have my three kids to buy something for. Plus, I am sure they will get me something, too.
I found those glasses up there at Zenni Optical, and I would totally wear them. I love the little blingy heart on the side! For those of you who don't know about Zenni, they are the best place to buy glasses. Those heart glasses are $30, but they have a huge selection of eyeglasses that cost under $10. That's right. I said under $10. For someone like me on a very tight budget, being able to save money on eyeglasses is awesome. I wear glasses, and Ryan needs glasses to see the board at school, and buying glasses for the two of us gets downright expensive. I have yet to order from Zenni, simply because our current pairs are still in good condition. I do have friends and family members who have ordered from them, and they were more than satisfied with their glasses.
The next time you need new glasses, check out Zenni Optical.

I Say Merry Christmas!
I am so tired of people being afraid to say "Merry Christmas". I deal with people all day during my deliveries, and for the past week or so, everyone has been telling me to have a Merry Christmas, just in case they don't see me again before the 25th. But, if I go into a store to shop, I am told to have a Happy Holiday. To me, it's just not the same thing. It's Christmas, people.
I found these glasses on ZenniOptical.com, and for only $12.95 I can wish everyone a Merry Christmas without even opening my mouth! I love it. I know several people who have bought cheap eyeglasses from Zenni and have been more than satisfied. Being so close to Christmas, I have better things to spend my money on than glasses that cost $100. I can get these Christmas glasses for under twenty bucks, and spend the rest of my money on more gifts for my kids. Ryan is a little behind the girls in the gift department, which means I still need to get him a few more things.
You should check out Zenni if you are looking for new glasses. They have several other Christmas themed eyeglasses, and tons of regular glasses too, all at more than reasonable prices. Check them out, then come back here and let me know which ones you would wear to express yourself.

Painted Glasses
I get my craftiness from my mom. Growing up in NY, she had a ceramic studio in our basement. She made all kinds of decorations for our house. I especially love her Christmas stuff. There is this one piece in particular that is two mice singing (it plays music) that I plan on owning one day. I may have to sneak it out of her house one Christmas, but it will be mine.
These days she paints more than just ceramics. Knowing that my favorite color is purple, she painted a nice set of glassware for me with flowers and butterflies. She also painted a candle, serving tray, candy jar and hurricane shade to match the glasses. They are all displayed on my hutch for everyone to see.
I am not a talented as her when it comes to painting. If I follow a pattern, I do fine. It's looking at a blank canvas that throws me. I can't visualize a finished product, so it's hard to even start a project like that. I think I'll just stick to painting in between the lines.

Broken Glasses
I broke my glasses Easter Sunday. I have no idea how I did it, but we were on the way to my mom's house, and my nose started hurting where my glasses sit, so I took them off. I was shocked when I saw that the little piece that goes on my nose was broken, because it is made of bendable rubber. I mean, how do you break rubber?
The glasses are a few years old, so Junior suggested that instead of having them repaired I just get a new pair. I love those eyeglasses and agreed to get a new pair only if I could find a new pair similar to those at a reasonable price. Well, imagine my surprise when I found the pair pictured below. They are almost the exactly the same!
The best news is that I found this pair at Zenni Optical, in their selection of $8 glasses. I think I paid almost $100 for my broken pair, so spending $8 to replace them is a pretty good deal. And because they look like my old pair, I know how they will look on me. That was always my biggest concern with buying glasses online. They may look good on the page, but there was no guarantee that they would look good on.
If you need new glasses, I would suggest checking out Zenni Optical. I have heard only good things about them, from friends of mine who have actually ordered their products. In fact, one friend was expecting a cheap pair of glasses, and was pleasantly surprised when the pair that arrived was made well. In these tough economic times, we could all use a little help saving money, and being able to get quality glasses at an inexpensive price is sure to help.
I know it will help me.

A Spare Pair
I mentioned a few posts ago that I broke my spare pair of eyeglasses. Not really a big deal, but something I would like to take care of. Cheaply, because let's face it, I am cheap.
So I was thinking cheap, and eyeglasses, and Zenni optical popped into mind. A friend of mine recently bought a couple of pairs of glasses from them, and said she was shocked at the quality of glasses she received. Shocked in a good way, not a bad way.
I am sure I would be thinking the same thing she was; at only $7 a pair, how nice could they be? Sure, they look great in all the pictures, but what about when they actually arrive on your doorstep?
Well, according to my friend, they are great. She has had them for a little while now, and they are holding up just fine. She actually said that she doesn't see a difference between them and an old pair she paid a couple of hundred dollars for. Now, my friends opinions mean a lot, but I also did a little research of my own. I found this article, and this guy seems to speak from experience, too. He wrote about the good and the bad, and it seems, at least to me, that the good definitely outweighs the bad.
I think I might give them a try. I mean, it's only for my spare pair, unless I like them better than the ones I wear now, then they will become my everyday glasses. And if I really like the quality, I might have to buy a bunch of pairs, like one for every day of the week. I pay the same shipping for one pair or twenty, so I may as well get my moneys worth.
Right?

Need New Glasses? Ryan Does
Ryan is supposed to wear glasses at school to see the board. I asked him the other day if he was wearing his glasses like he is supposed to, and he said no. When I asked why not, he said it was because they were broken. It seems he had them in his book bag, at the bottom, and then got squished. This happened months ago. Months! I was so angry with him; not because he broke his glasses, but because he didn't tell me. Luckily, we have insurance on the kids and eyes are covered 100%, so I can get them replaced for free. He also needs an eye exam, so he will have that done, too. The glasses he wears look like this:
Now, if you don't have eye coverage on your insurance plan, let me tell you about Zenni optical. They offer eyeglasses for as low as $8. In fact, the pair pictured above is from their $8 selection. You can check out this article written for the Examiner to read for yourself how satisfied Zenni customers are. In fact, I know someone personally who bought two pairs of glasses from them, and they were extremely impressed with the quality of the glasses. To be honest, they were expecting an $8 pair of glasses, otherwise known as a cheaply made pair. They were pleasantly surprised with the glasses they received. It's nice to know that in these hard economic times that you don't have to neglect your eyes. You can get cheap, but not cheaply made glasses, for reasonable prices. In fact, you can buy multiple pairs of glasses for the same amount of money that one pair typically costs. That is what I call an awesome deal.

Having Lasik Eye Surgery
I wear glasses. I made it all the way through high school by squinting, but when it came time to go to college, I couldn't fake it anymore. I knew I needed glasses, so I broke down and had my eyes checked.
I tried contacts at first, but was extremely freaked out about having something floating around in my eye. They didn't have LASIK available back then, so my only other option was glasses. I wore that first pair of glasses for many years, and only replaced them when they snapped in two. There was no way I was walking around with the nose piece taped together. I remember when I went to have them replaced, the woman working their commented about my old pair being out of style. Of course they were, I had been wearing them for years. She helped me pick out a more in style frame, and those are the ones I am still wearing today.
I would love to get rid of these glasses for good, and have been thinking about having iLASIK done. I know a few people who have had this surgery, and they are pleased with the results. They also commented on how they have saved so much money by having the procedure done. They no longer need to buy contacts and cleaning solutions, which can get rather expensive. Yes, Lasik is a bit pricey, but you have to look at it as an investment where you spend money now to save money in the future. Some insurance plans will even cover it, so that is something to look into as well.
Hopefully in the next couple of years I can have my eyes done. I will be so happy to get rid of these glasses.

Online Glasses
Ryan and I both wear glasses. I rarely replace mine, unless they break. In fact, a few years ago, I needed new eyeglasses, but was reluctant to spend the money on them. When I finally gave in and went to the eye doctor, the sales lady made fun of my broken glasses, because they went out of style years ago. I couldn't believe how expensive a pair of eyeglasses had become. Ryan is now more concerned with his appearance since starting this school year. I guess at almost 13 his appearance has finally become important to him. This causes a problem for me, because I can not afford for him to have the designer glasses that he wants.Or can I?
With ZenniOptical.com, I can afford to but him the glasses he wants. How? Because they do not have the overhead costs of retail stores, they can pass their low prices along to us. They have gorgeous glasses starting at $8.00. You're probably thinking that that price is probably just for the frames, but you would be wrong. That is the price for a complete pair of glasses. You simply can not beat that. They offer different types of lenses, from single vision, to bifocals and progressives lenses. I now know where Ryan and I are getting our next pair of eyeglasses from.

My Next Pair Of Glasses
Check out these glasses. They are purple! How cool is that! Anyone who knows me, knows that purple is my favorite color, and that I wear glasses all the time. I have since I was 18 years old and I can't see without them. I may be too old to wear purple glasses, so it's a good thing these also come in black, blue, silver, gold, gray, and pink. I would choose these eyeglasses in black for my everyday wear. The best thing about them is that they only cost $8.00. That makes them stylish and affordable. ZenniOptical.com has a huge selection of glasses, starting from $8.00. They offer single vision lens, bifocals, and even sunglasses. Their prices are low because they sell direct to the customer. That means no overhead, and no middle man. These here may be my favorite frames, but you may prefer something different. ZenniOptical.com has a wide variety of frames, in all different shapes and sizes. You may have even heard about them on nationally syndicated consumer advocate program The Clark Howard Show. Just think. If you have a family of five like me, and everyone wears glasses, buying glasses from ZenniOptical.com could save you hundreds of dollars. I'm all about saving money. With ZenniOptical.com, you can be too.
