And The Winner Is...

Jordin. No big surprise there. As much as I wanted Blake to win, Jordin is a great singer. I probably won't buy either of their albums anyway. I looked at the paper from the ER and the correct name is Parotiditis. Junior is feeling better. It's amazing what one day of antibiotics can do. I spent today doing nothing. After finally getting into bed after midnight last night, our power went out around 3am. Junior's BiPap has an alarm that goes of when it looses power, so that woke up the kids. Brandi was screaming cause it was pitch black. After lighting candles, she settled down. Of course we couldn't find any flashlights. Luckily the power came back on quickly, and we were all back in bed by 3:30. I wasn't going to get up with the kids this morning. They wanted to get ready by themselves. But Lori called last night and needed me to get Brandon on the bus. So I ended up having to get up. I did sneak back to bed until about 8:30, but I was still pretty tired all day. Boo didn't get up til close to 9:30. Faith was here most of the day. I didn't get out to the pool, but the kids are starting to complain, so I'll try to do it in the morning before it gets too hot. I will most likely need Juniors help, and he's been doing a job this week so he won't be here. Maybe between Ryan, Kasi, and myself we can at least get it moved and cleaned. Junior will have to help with the leveling. This is the 4th year putting it up, and it hasn't been level yet. It is supposed to be 4 feet deep, but we have been lucky to get like 2 1/2 feet. Just enough for the kids to swim under. I did better on WW today. I wrote down everything that went into my mouth. I didn't even use all my points. Hopefully I can continue like this for the rest of the week. I guess we'll see......

Go Blake

I'm unsure about tomorrow's finale. I want Blake to win, but I have a strong feeling it will be Jordin. I am voting as I write and getting through way too often for Blake. I loved hearing him sing Bon Jovi again, even though it was better the first time. I didn't like Jordin singing Fighter, but she did good on the other two. Blake really sounded bad on the last song, and I have to agree with Simon that it was the style of the song, not so much him. Let's all keep our fingers crossed.Junior is at the hospital right now. The left side of his jaw has been hurting all day, and I thought he should have it checked out. I've heard that could be a sign of heart trouble. With his dad's heart being so bad, I don't think we should take any chances. I'm hoping it's an ear infection or toothache or something simple. So everyone reading, think good thoughts. We have made up. He finally admitted he was acting like an ass, and apologized, so it's all good. I'm hoping he will call soon. I wanted to go, but they don't allow children back in the ER, so I would be sitting in the waiting area anyway. So at least this way, the kids are able to sleep. Ryan and Kasi still have a half day of school left. So far, all the teachers have liked the gifts I made. I am going to try to clean out the pool tomorrow. That should be interesting. Two of the kittens went to be with their new owners today. I wasn't the least bit sad to see them go. Junior threw Sally outside and refuses to let her back in. I am a cat lover, but this one particular cat just got into everything! She has broken more dishes and eaten more of my plants than any other animal I have ever had. She would rumage through the trash and make a huge mess. She was worse than a dog! Now that her babies are eating and pooping on their own, she no longer needs to be inside. That about does it for me. Hopefully I will hear from Junior soon. Please pray that it is nothing serious. Good night!

I Like It That Way

I just watched Idol. It's gonna be tough to see someone go tomorrow. I've been trying to vote for Blake but can't get through. That is a good sign. I would like to see him and Jordin. We'll see.Unfortunately, (I think that is spelled wrong, it looks funny) a couple of girls can't come to Kasi's party this weekend. I hope she still has a good time with the ones who do come.That's it for now. It was nice and peaceful at my house today. I like it that way!

Remember When

Last week, Tami told me that she ran into the husband of an old friend of ours. In the course of their conversation, she discovered that the parents of some of my good friends from years ago had passed away. Being ever so diligent, I searched the internet for their address to offer my condolences. I was pleasantly surprised to get an email from one of them today. It has been years since I have heard from them and it was great to do a little catch up. I hope to stay in touch this time!For any of you who watched AI, it sucked tonight! I told Tami this afternoon (or was it Colleen?) that Blake needed to just sing tonight. Was I right or what. He totally ruined those songs, if that is even possible, cause the songs sucked in general. The only song I liked was Jordin's first song. It should be interesting to see who goes home tomorrow.As for my day, I finished the layette for Kasi's teacher. I think I set a speed record. It came out really pretty. I used pink ribbon and buttons this time, but I didn't do the matching blanket. I'm not that good. Besides, I made her one when she found out she was having a girl. I can't believe the kids only have 2 weeks of school left. I need to get the pool set up. We'll all go crazy if we don't. Kasi had 7 girls call to say they are coming to her party Friday night. Junior is very glad I picked a night he will be at work. Ryan is going to spend the night at my mom's, so it's just gonna be me and a bunch of girls. Fun. I hope I make it through the night in one piece!I guess that's about it. Until tomorrow...

Did I Call It Or What?

I was right. Phil and Chris. I hate that Chris is gone, now I have to vote for someone else, probably Blake. I gotta say though, that when the top 6 sang together, they sounded really good. Most years the group songs suck. I think this is the first time the top 4 are all really good singers. It will be interesting to see what happens.Hubby and I are both still going strong with the WW. I have to admit that it is easier than I expected. Hopefully this will be the program that sticks. I spent the day today being lazy. We had all the movie channels turned back on so I was watching some movies. We will pay less for all the channels than we were paying for just Showtime. That makes no sense to me. When the kids got home, it was Scrabble with Kasi, Chutes and Ladders with Boo, and Rummy with Ryan. I am pooped. I'm glad school is almost over. I made the cutest thank you gifts for all the teachers and the bus driver. All you Idol watchers, how great was Blake tonight? He ROCKED!!! What was up with Simon kissing LaKisha? She also did a great job. I have a feeling it will be Phil and Chris leaving tomorrow. I voted for Chris for about 15 minutes and got through EVERY time. That is so not good. I guess we'll have to wait and see.A couple of weeks ago I taught my older kids how to play rummy. We play almost every day now. I think it's good cause it helps them to stratagize (is that even how you spell that-it looks weird). Anyway, they are both getting really good at it. I also played Scrabble with Kasi when she got home from school. That has been her favorite game for a while now. Her birthday is coming up and somehow she got me to agree to another sleepover. She had 5 girls sleep over last year, and I swore I would never do it again. So much for that. I will say that those girls were 1000 times better than the 2 boys my son had sleep over 3 years ago. That was a dissaster. I just hope they all have a good time. That's about it for today. God willing, there will be more tomorrow!
